A riverside wedding in London
Anyone would have thought it was the middle of summer and not mid April, for Jacob and Christina’s wedding. We certainly hit the jackpot with the weather. Jacob and Christina’s Trafalgar Tavern wedding was such a beautiful day, so chilled and full of just happiness. I met the couple at the Trafalgar wedding fair and was thrilled when they booked me the next day. The Trafalgar is so special to me as its where I had my wedding and so I just love love love shooting here. Here are a selection from their gallery where we managed to get out for photos just after the ceremony and when the evening guests were arriving. This is an ideal time to decompress, recharge and get ready for your party. Thanks Jacob and Christina for choosing me, I had a blast.

Jacob and I met in The Forge, a bar in London, in January 2019. We got engaged in July 2023 in Greenwich park- one of our favourite places! After the proposal, Jacob had booked a table for drinks and food at The Trafalgar Tavern. It was such a special day and in one of our most special places. There was also a live band playing that night which was an excellent way to end the night.
What made you choose your venue?
On the evening of our engagement, while having drinks outside The Trafalgar Tavern, there was a wedding on the first floor. It was lovely to see everyone on the balconies and celebrating in such a special place on the river. A few months later we started to research venues in and around Greenwich and pretty much decided straight away on The Trafalgar Tavern. We booked onto the next wedding fair and made our minds up very quickly! We also met Sarah that day and we loved her work, and also the fact that she also got married at the same venue. Everything was perfect!
How long did it take you to plan your wedding?
We were engaged for just over 1.5 years but probably only really started to book things up about a year in advance. There was then a period of time we didn’t do much at all (mainly because we got a kitten and moved house from Greenwich to Upminster). In the last 6 months we made the decisions about the dress, colour scheme and details!
Tell me about your dress choice ?
I didn’t get a dress until 6-7 months before the wedding! I wanted one which was loose around the tummy as we were trying for a baby and starting IVF- just in case! I found a gorgeous A-Line dress which was perfect. Around a month before the wedding, I had to have a few alterations- and luckily the dress fitted well. We were 26 weeks pregnant on our wedding day!
The dress was an A-line shape, delicate straps and a long train. I also had an equally long veil which I borrowed from my sister and maid of honour- my something borrowed!
Favourite part of the day?
We loved every part- from the ceremony, to the amazing food and the fantastic band who brought the party! It’s so hard to decide. Some special highlights were walking down the aisle and seeing Jacob at the end, in his tuxedo suit. This was probably the most emotional we felt all day. We loved the speeches too! We also felt so special as we were walking to get photos outside and everyone having drinks at The Trafalgar Tavern were clapping- a great atmosphere! We were also so grateful to all our friends and family who made our day the best- some even came from New York, Cyprus and Perth, Australia for our special day.
Any advice for future couples?
Enjoy the day- live in the moment! It goes so quickly. We tried to spend the majority of the time together and saying hello to everyone who had made the effort to attend. We are so grateful to Sarah who has captured amazing photos so we can remember everything forever!
