The Old Kent Barn Wedding Photographer // Sam and Carley

Sam and Carley’s The Old Kent Barn Wedding was a day to remember.  A real family affair with over 100 guests. It included a bouncy castle (provided by Megabounce)  and plenty of lawn games. Carley and Sam really had thought of everything.

The morning was spent with the girls- there was a fair few of them and it was a really nice vibe whilst they all had their hair and make up done in the room provided for the bridal prep.

When the groom arrived, my 2nd photographer Stephanie met up with him too take a few photos of him and his entourage. Opening his gifts from Carley and just greeting the guests arriving.

The ceremony, in the beautiful white Gazebo was perfect with the groom Sam, shedding a few tears when he saw his little ones walking down the aisle let alone when he caught sight of Carley and her dad.  It was very emotional. Danson House Wedding Photographer

I have been asked to be a Danson House Wedding photographer quite a few times over the years. The beautiful venue in Bexleyheath has become the official registry office for Bexley Borough.  Its a beautiful Georgian Grade I listed building with  various different ceremony rooms. All looking out over the beautiful grounds of Danson Park, its lake and the 200 year old Oak tree. The perfect wedding venue.

If you are looking for your Danson House Wedding photographer please get in touch about my bespoke Bexley Registry Office/Danson House Package.

Here is a small selection of some of the weddings that I have photographed at Danson House.

Every room in the house is unique and beautiful.

The Library – also known as the music room, over looks the lawns.  It also has a fantastic old and original organ that was kept at Hall Place, Bexley until the Council invested in restoring it.

The Dining Room – Light and airy, with those romantic paintings and gold finishings. Very romantic.

The Salon – With its gorgeous vivid wallpaper. Tiny flecks of silk and flakes of paint discovered on the walls by the English Heritage experts enabled them to recreate the Georgian wall paper that was once there. This is one of my favorite rooms

Get in touch to find out about Danson House Packages. Up  to 2.5 hours coverage at Danson House and the grounds £500.

Sir John Boyds Room – A cosy room located on the top floor, with stunning views over Danson Park

Even the beautiful spiral staircase in the middle of the house is perfect for photographs.

As for photographs on your wedding day, the 200 acres of grounds give you plenty of options. Although its worth noting that you need an extra permit from the Civic offices if you want to have your photographs in the park itself or the ornamental gardens opposite. Although the lawn and grounds to the side of the house and the stairs are equally pretty.

The Hop Farm Wedding Photographer // Chris and Kirsty

The Hop Farm Wedding Photographer // Chris and Kirsty

The Hop Farm wedding photographer. A selection of photographs from Chris and Kirsty’s Hop Farm Wedding, Kent.

I spent the morning in Bexley taking photos the groom, Chris and his entourage, whilst my 2nd photographer Sabrina, was with the bride at The Mecure Tunbridge Wells, which is not far from wedding venue.  It was one of the hottest days of the year which made it just perfect for an outdoor wedding in the Hop Farm’s pretty Gazebo. With the ceremony finished, it was time for the Fizz and Pimms whilst we took few group photographs. Despite the heat this wedding party were very relaxed and up for some fun photographs.

The delicious dinner took place in the barn up stairs, followed by great speeches and then the party moved downstairs for drinking and dancing. I will say that the Hop Farm have some of the best Gins ;). As the evening guests began to arrive and the sun started to go down…It was the perfect opportunity to get some more wedding photos of the bride and groom at sunset.

Im thrilled to say too, that a two of Chris and Kirsty’s wedding day photos won awards with The Guild of Photographers. You will seem them below.

A surprise marriage proposal with a hidden photographer.

Wedding proposal photography

A photoshoot that I have always dreamed of doing is a surprise marriage proposal.  I mean, think about it….photographs are there to create memories of special times, special people, things we want to remember forever.  So why not the proposal?. Probably one of the most romantic moments of your life.

It seems to becoming more and more popular, I have photographed two surprise proposals this month alone. This is a little look at one of them.

Alex called me to say that it was his and his girlfriend Abby’s first date anniversary and he was planning to pop the question in Greenwich Park. He had scouted a few locations where he wanted to make the most of the stunning views from the top of the park and wondered if I would secretly capture the moment.  Erm! yes!!!  a) Greenwich is my happy place and b) Im a sucker for a bit of romance.  So on a Sunday late afternoon the plan was in full swing. Alex had wanted somewhere a little more secluded for the moment. However, it was a  stunningly beautiful day and anyone local to Greenwich park knows that the sun brings the crowds. The location he had chosen was packed so when he messaged to say his was in the park and at The Observatory. I replied that I would follow them from there and would be ready to click away as soon as he dropped down on one knee. Where ever that may be.

So stayed a good few meters back and followed them from the Observatory on their “little stroll”, pretending to be a member of the public casually taking photos of the park.   Alex had caught my glance as if to say he knew I was behind him…but Abby was still oblivious!…I was so bloody excited!

Finally, reaching a gorgeous spot with the stunning views he wanted….Alex dropped onto his knee popped the question. Having my lovely long lens I was able to stand right back, but close enough to capture it.  It went perfectly! Abby was in total shock and shed a few tears ( as did I!)
